Q: How do I setup my Shopping Feeds?
A: Shopping feed setup can be done by clicking on Options -> Shopping Feeds Setup. Select the shopping feeds that you plan to setup from "Available Feeds" and click the "Add" button. When you are done, click "Save". This will allow you to configure those selected shopping feeds. To configure each feed, click on Options -> Configure Active Feeds. You can then choose an available feed from the left. You can then choose to either have the feed taken from the server, or you can upload it to their assigned ftp server. If you choose the ladder, you must enter your username and password. SmartFeed has the ftp addresses already preconfigured within the program. Q: How do I manage my feeds? A: To manage your feeds, you must already have the custom code installed within your store to send traffic data to SmartFeed. Without this, it will seem as if you have no traffic, yet you will still be able to perform basic functions. Q: Can I remove a specific item from all the feeds? A: Sure, to do this click on Manage Feeds -> All Store Items. Type in the SKU and click "Submit". Check the box next to the SKU and click on "Remove". Q: I noticed that only 30 items show up when I click on any particular feed. How do I view them all? A: At first, only 30 results are returned. This is to prevent overloading the system. If your store has a lot of traffic and a lot of diverse items are viewed, it may take some time to display all. There is a "Show me more" link at the end of this list, but keep in mind this may take some time to load. Q: It seems that the graph of overall traffic may be skewed... I don't think I have that much traffic? A: The traffic graphs display how many clicks came in on your site and assigns them to the incoming traffic source. For example, if someone came to your site from PriceGrabber and viewed one item, it will record the person 1 time. If that person decided to browse around and looked at 10 items, it will display 10 times. This does not show unique visitors but rather clicks and click sources. This is because a person may have come in on one item, yet purchase a different item. This allows us to track every item a customer looked at. Q: I set up the Share-A-Sale shopping feed... what do I put for the category and subcategory numbers, and when I enter a username and password, it doesn't transfer. What am I doing wrong? A: Setting up the Share-A-Sale feed is a bit different. First, you must contact Share-A-Sale for a dedicated ftp account, then you must inform them of the specific IP that your SmartFeed program is installed from. Contact Support if you do not have this information. The category and subcategory information can be found within Share-A-Sale's website here. Q: The Yahoo Shopping Feed said it "had trouble connecting", did it correctly transfer? A: Yes. For an unknown reason, yahoo's ftp servers seem to end their session on an error, but the feed you submit goes through just fine. This error does not affect anything.
